Quiche (Edit)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb mild italian/pork sausage

  • 3 tbsp butter

  • 3 tbsp Parmesan cheese

  • 8 oz Gruyere cheese, 2 cups shredded

  • 4 scallions, minced

  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour

  • 3/4 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1 cup half and half

  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten

  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard

  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg

Directions

  • Preheat to 350°F

  • Cook the sausage, breaking it into bite-sized chunks

  • Grease 9” pie dish with 1 tbsp softened butter

  • Coat dish with Parmesan cheese

  • Combine other cheese, sausage, and scallions in a bowl

  • Sprinkle cheese and sausage mixture evenly in the bottom of the dish

  • Combine flour, baking powder, pepper, and salt in the same bowl

  • Whisk in half and half, eggs, 2 tbsp melted butter, mustard, and nutmeg until smooth

  • Slowly pour over cheese and sausage mixture in the dish

  • Bake until pie is light golden brown and filling is set, ~30 minutes

  • Let cool for 15 minutes
